- ➤ Oscar’s Restaurant & Bar will open by April to deliver pizza, sliders, quesadillas, and drinks directly to moviegoers at Celebration Cinema’s theater at RiverTown Crossings mall in Grandville as part of an $8.5 million renovation that upgrades seating and sound. MLive

- ➤ GasBuddy predicts that West Michigan gas prices will remain below $3 per gallon throughout 2026 (with Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Ottawa, and Kalamazoo counties reporting averages from $2.57 to $2.87), and drivers are advised to fill up on weekends to save money. FOX 17

- ➤ Nearly all Sand Lake firefighters have threatened to quit after March 31 if the village does not resolve its dispute over fire service coverage with neighboring townships serving 12,000 residents. Nelson Township officials say they will form a regional fire department with Ensley and Pierson if Sand Lake's plan moves forward. FOX 17
- ➤ Reeds Lake Boulevard still shows signs of flooding from heavy rain five days ago, leaving the road open for emergency services and residents despite unstable 17-foot muck layers. The road commission plans to remove closure signs (today) as budget limits delay major upgrades. FOX 17

- ➤ Grand Rapids residents can boost New Year resolutions with free workout classes offered by local venues. Offerings include Friday Flow Yoga at Baxter Community Center until Feb. 13, YMCA sessions, trial Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Carlson Gracie Grand Rapids, and free yoga at Funky Buddha on Jan. 15. MLive
- ➤ Last Monday, the CDC released a new childhood vaccine schedule that removed shots for hepatitis A, hepatitis B, influenza, meningitis, RSV, and rotavirus for healthy children. Bronson Children’s Hospital in Kalamazoo will keep the old schedule, saying the change lacks new scientific data and advising parents to consult a pediatrician. ABC 13
- ➤ Livonia-based Trinity Health announced Tuesday, Jan. 13 it will cut 10.5% of its revenue cycle jobs – including billing and coding roles – to deal with low reimbursement rates and rising care costs for underinsured patients.
