- ➤ Nonprofit Tapestry Rockford gives free clothes and school supplies to students across (8) districts. Founded by Shawn Marie Loney two years ago, the organization moved from a basement to an office last June and now runs a recycle program that served 155 students in its first month. FOX 17

- ➤ Three new Walker businesses boost local commerce. Pottery Lane relocated to a larger studio — adding kilns — to expand classes; The Pump House Standale opens Dec. 5 at Standale Plaza NW with frozen yogurt and study tables, and a Lego store opens today at Greenridge Square for local fans. FOX 17
- ➤ Slutty Buns, a pop-up bakery offering sweet and savory filled pastries, opened in November 2025 inside Chef Shack at 1003 Lake Drive SE, drawing long lines Thursday through Saturday evenings + hosts popular brunch events with themed bowling in the works. MLive
