- ➤ Bojangles, a North Carolina fried chicken chain, will open its first Michigan restaurant in Wyoming on Feb. 3 at 5:30 a.m. at 1730 28th St. SW, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner. MLive
- ➤ Butcher's Union in Grand Rapids was ranked No. 11 on Yelp's Top 100 U.S. Restaurants for 2026, making it the only Michigan restaurant on the list. The restaurant is known for its cocktails + flavorful dishes and offers take-out for busy diners. FOX 17
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Kid Cudi's Rebel Rangers Tour will perform at Acrisure Amphitheater on May 27 featuring special guests M.I.A.+ Big Boi and A-Trak. General ticket sales begin Friday at 10 a.m. on AcrisureAmphitheater.com. ABC 13
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices dropped another 10 cents this week to $2.86 per gallon as demand dipped and domestic supply increased, according to AAA. Drivers in Grand Rapids can expect a 15-gallon fill to cost about $42. ABC 13
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students at Grand Rapids Preparatory Academy are learning hands-only CPR using kits and AEDs donated by the American Heart Association. The school has trained 1,500 students and will train 850 more this year (a key boost to their life-saving program). FOX 17
- ➤ Grandville Public Schools Superintendent Roger Bearup will retire on June 30, 2026 after 11 years with the district (37 years in public education) and oversaw projects like a new middle school and robotics center. He plans to spend quality time with his family and travel. MLive
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A federal review cleared the Grand River rapids restoration project, so Grand Rapids Whitewater will remove four low-head dams and add 20,000 tons of rock to the downtown waterway this summer to boost recreation and improve native fish habitats. MLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Over 100 Lowell residents met last Monday at Lowell High School to voice concerns about a proposed Microsoft data center along I-96, saying it could raise water and energy costs and affect community health. The township will discuss the proposal further on Feb. 9. FOX 17
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Health Net of West Michigan secured a $200,000 grant to expand healthcare access at its HUB 07 facility in Boston Square. The nonprofit opened the office last October and will leave its previous space (1550 Leonard St. NE) by Jan. 31. MLive
