BUSINESS NEWS

  • Michigan's Adventure in Muskegon is hiring part-time and seasonal workers for its 2026 season after closing the 2025 season early on Sept. 1, and it is accepting in-person + online applications until Friday, Feb. 20 during National Hiring Week.  FOX 17

CULTURE NEWS

  • Hank Williams Jr. will headline a concert at Acrisure Amphitheater in Grand Rapids this summer on July 18 with special guest Sammy Kershaw (tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m.).  FOX 17
  • The Grand River Bands of Ottawa Indians will host a traditional Snow Snake competition on Feb. 28 during the World of Winter festival at Sixth Street Park (647 Monroe Ave NW) where all participants must craft their own wooden snakes to compete for prizes.  MLive
  • The annual Butterflies are Blooming exhibition will open March 1 at Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park where over 7,000 tropical butterflies and moths from 60 species will fill the conservatory; family events such as Butterfly Photography on Feb 22 and Butterfly Ballet on Feb 28 add to the spring celebration.  MLive

  • A fire during winter break damaged Sparta High School’s auditorium, forcing theater programs to relocate. The middle school will perform Stuart Little in the cafeteria from March 27 to 29 and the high school show Madagascar at Comstock Park High School from April 23 to 26.  FOX 17

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • An active winter with heavy snow and rain has significantly improved last year’s drought in West Michigan, with most areas now reporting normal precipitation – only a few spots remain dry. Additional rain and storms are forecast today to sustain a wet pattern into the growing season.  ABC 13

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • The vacant federal building near Riverside Park had its sale fall through last month because the $4.5 million price did not meet developer proposals — federal officials now decide its future while neighbors suggest uses like a café or community center.  FOX 17
