- ➤ The Steelcase Foundation has launched a 10-year study that gives $1,000 monthly to 30 mothers in Kent County to help them escape survival mode and spend more time with their children; the program, in its second year (after an initial trial), will track how unrestricted cash supports family success. - ➤ A new HOTWORX infrared sauna fitness studio opened in Cascade Township earlier this month offering 24-hour workouts to boost calorie burn and ease joint pain. The ribbon-cutting ceremony included local chamber officials and owner Meg Murray — formerly from St. Louis — introducing the facility. FOX 17
- ➤ Grand Rapids businessman Jeff Lambert plans to open the Commerce Club, a high-end members-only venue in a historic downtown building at 61 Commerce Ave. SW. Membership will be about $10,000 a year and the club will open in early 2027. MLive

- ➤ U.S. Rep. Hillary Scholten announced over $1 million in federal funding on Feb. 18 to help GVSU launch the West Michigan Trustworthy AI Consortium at the DeVos Center downtown. - ➤ Warm weather is melting ice along the Grand River and making areas near North Street Bridge & Robinson Township at risk for ice jams, though the National Weather Service says melting is proceeding normally and residents should stay alert. FOX 17
- ➤ The state has expanded PFAS testing in Cascade Township by adding an extra 90 homes, raising concerns about private well safety & prompting municipal water extension plans. A community meeting is held today at 6 p.m. at the Wisner Center to address residents’ questions. FOX 17
- ➤ RWE, the developer of a 1,900-acre solar farm near Zeeland, said it is exploring approval through the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) while continuing to work with local officials.
