  • Workers put up the final steel beam for the Acrisure Amphitheater canopy on March 16th in downtown Grand Rapids (201 Market Ave SW), marking the middle of the $184 million build. The venue will hold 12,000 people, used 3.2 million pounds of steel, and will open in May 2026 as public and private money fund the work.  MLive

  • The Grand Rapids juice bar Juice by J introduced its new Radishing Tacos—a plant-based chicken dish made from lentils, jackfruit, garbanzo beans and beets perfected over 20 years—and now serves it with fresh-pressed juices and whole foods from local farms.  MLive

  • On Saturday, March 15th, the state's largest St. Patrick's Day street party moved from Ionia Avenue to Calder Plaza to celebrate Irish traditions with live music, food, and drinks. The festival drew thousands and featured local acts — including the Leprecons and Motor City Irish Dancers — performing from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.  FOX 17

  • Grand Rapids is launching a nationwide search for a new emergency management administrator after Allison Farole, who built the city's emergency management office and coordinated responses during severe weather and elections, will leave on May 7 to lead Minnesota’s Homeland Security division — the Grand Rapids Fire Department will manage emergency operations until a new leader is chosen.  MLive
