- ➤ A colorful mural was installed in an alley off Newberry Street NW behind Auto Fixit Body Shop to honor the Grand Rapids Chicks, a professional women’s baseball team that played from 1943 to 1954. - ➤ Several traffic and street lights are out in Grand Rapids today after an outage affected the primary circuits from Consumers Energy, city spokesperson Steve Guitar said.
