- ➤ Kimberley St. Onge pleaded no contest to three counts of embezzlement for stealing more than $100,000 from 13 vulnerable adults in a Kent County courtroom on Thursday afternoon—she will be sentenced on May 12 and may face up to ten years in prison for each count. WOOD TV
- ➤ Allegan County deputies asked the public for help in finding 67-year-old Nancy Louise Eichler-Oconnell, who was last seen at her Saugatuck Township home on Thursday at 1:45 p.m.—she does not have a vehicle or phone and her family is worried because of her heart condition. ABC 13
- ➤ A Grand Rapids man was accused of driving under the influence and crashing his minivan into a Battle Creek home Friday morning—firefighters rescued a 70-year-old homeowner through a window as the minivan blocked the exit and the man's dog was unharmed. ABC 13

- ➤ The Grand Rapids Public Museum will hold a free screening — tickets must be claimed online — of Star Wars: A New Hope dubbed in Ojibwe at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 4. The event is a cultural collaboration between Lucasfilm, the University of Manitoba and the Dakota Ojibway Tribal Council. WOOD TV
- ➤ The Grand Rapids Lantern Festival started on April 9 and will run through June 15 at John Ball Zoo, where visitors can take a one-mile tour of glowing lantern displays every Wednesday through Sunday from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The festival is themed on Chinese folklore and features mythical creatures that move, speak and breathe smoke—offering a new way to experience the zoo at night.
