- ➤ Grand Rapids is offering free pool passes for kids 17 and under now until June 6 so families can enjoy the city pools this summer—after that date, kids' passes will cost $5. Ascend Youth Program is expanding its summer career readiness effort to serve over 140 youth ages 14 to 24 from Barry, Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, Muskegon and Ottawa counties; the six-week program runs from June 23 to Aug. 1 and pays $14 per hour for a 20-hour weekly commitment. - ➤ Calvin University is installing a 35‐kilowatt student-designed solar array at its campus facilities building to reduce energy use in celebration of Earth Day.
