- ➤ Kent County Dispatch said no one was hurt in a house fire on the 4600 block of Boyd Avenue in Plainfield Township at 2:22 p.m. Sunday — firefighters responded to calls about downed wires, a fallen power pole, and a gas leak and reported most damage was to the home’s exterior — as the homeowner safely exited the building. - ➤ The lead defense attorney for Christopher Schurr said he was considering calling a former Grand Rapids police officer to testify at his trial for Patrick Lyoya's death later this month. WOOD TV
- ➤ A car hit a pedestrian in Cascade Township Sunday evening at 10 p.m. on 36th Street near I-96, the county sheriff said — crews remained on scene until about 10:40 p.m. while the road was shut down — and officials have not yet confirmed the injury severity. WOOD TV

- ➤ Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids celebrated its 30th anniversary on April 9th—showing before-and-after photos of its art and gardens. - ➤ The Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association has launched the Pothole Payback Contest, which runs through June and will award five drivers up to $758 for pothole repair costs—drivers must submit one entry per month with photos, damage descriptions, and repair receipts to qualify and will be notified the following month.
