- ➤ An apartment building on 11th Street NW near Davis Avenue NW in Grand Rapids suffered damage when a fire broke out around 2 a.m. Wednesday and firefighters quickly controlled the flames—Consumers Energy and DTE isolated one room to keep utilities running—and the building was checked and cleared. - ➤ Jury selection will continue Wednesday in Christopher Schurr’s trial for the killing of Patrick Lyoya as both sides used many peremptory challenges so far – the second-degree murder trial is set to begin Monday. WOOD TV
- ➤ A man in his 20s received treatment for minor injuries after a Tuesday night fight turned into a stabbing at Fish Ladder Park—another man in his 20s was arrested, police said. WOOD TV
