- ➤ A Plymouth-area man, Charles Willis, 22, is accused of using Snapchat to lure a 14-year-old girl from Barry County by paying for her Uber ride to his Northville Township home—he allegedly forced her to hide in his basement for two days before she was found early April 27 and remains held at Wayne County Jail on $1 million bond. - ➤ Former Grand Rapids officer Christopher Schurr testified on May 2 that he shot Black motorist Patrick Lyoya during an April 4 traffic stop because he feared for his life amid a Taser struggle & his trial will continue on May 5 as prosecutors note differences from his earlier statements. MLive
- ➤ Ottawa County police are searching for Michelle Olszewski, 50, and her three children (ages 14, 10, 8) who were last seen in Indiana on May 1 after she removed them from school on April 30. Investigators working with the Mishawaka Police Department say the woman, traveling with her dog Lambchop (a medium-sized golden brown Shiba Inu), may be unstable due to her history of mental illness.
