- ➤ Ottawa County Parks & Recreation will host a free, daylong astronomy celebration at Hemlock Crossing Public Observatory on Saturday, May 9. The event offers solar viewing, a planet walk, an evening lecture, and telescope sessions until midnight with indoor activities if skies are cloudy. MLive

- ➤ Voters in Kentwood and Wyoming Public Schools approved measures on Tuesday, May 5 with Kentwood passing a $125 million safety bond for career, STEM, arts and a new middle school, and Wyoming renewing a millage to fund staff, transportation and classroom services — applying only to non-homestead properties.
