- ➤ Food Truck Fridays returns to Riverside Park this Friday, May 16 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will feature live music by Harry Dean — The Dusty Boys, a new Frequent Fridays Card for weekly stamps and prize drawings, plus a rotating lineup of food trucks offering diverse choices. - ➤ Grand Rapids residents can join nearly 100 free drop-in outdoor fitness classes offered by the city's Parks and Recreation Department and Priority Health from May 12 to Aug.22 at 10 local parks–the sessions include yoga, Zumba, and other workouts and are designed for all fitness levels. WOOD TV

- ➤ Detroit-based Bamboo is renovating the former UICA building at the corner of Fulton and Division to create a co-working hub with conference rooms, a 200-seat theater, a rooftop patio, and flexible offices, and it plans to reopen by late fall. Start Garden will serve as the anchor tenant and Bamboo will share more details during a June 2 event — a move backed by a $10.2 million investment with state grant and loan support. MLive

- ➤ On May 12, members of the Grand Rapids Education Association protested at a GRPS Board meeting wearing red t-shirts to demand a 7.5% raise after a 1.5% increase left many teachers with lower pay—rising healthcare costs and nearly 88 vacancies have spurred educators to consider leaving. The union is bargaining with GRPS, urging the district to reassess its budget for better pay and support. MLive

- ➤ Beginning Monday, May 12, a $3 million project started resurfacing three miles of I-96 between M-37 and Cascade Road with joint repairs to improve the road.
