- ➤ Whitehall’s historic White River Light Station will open for its sesquicentennial season on May 22 and offer tower climbs and an onsite museum with daily hours until Sept. 7 — the 150-year-old brick lighthouse overlooks the White Lake Channel. A special celebration on June 21 will include music, food and a tribute from the state, and climb fees are $8 for adults with free access for military personnel and veterans — educational programs are also scheduled during the summer season. - ➤ The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids confirmed four tornadoes from Thursday evening storms — two EF-1 tornadoes in Dorr and Martin and two EF-0 tornadoes near Battle Creek. Additional surveys will be conducted to assess further damage. ABC 13
- ➤ The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down in Kent County and moved into Ionia County on Thursday. It caused tree damage along a 14.5-mile path and damaged roofs near Campbell Lake — wind speeds reached 90 mph. WOOD TV
