- ➤ Polish community members in Grand Rapids are rallying to continue Lucy Preston’s nonprofit mission after she was injured in a Plainfield Township explosion that caused fourth-degree burns (she remains in ICU). - ➤ Sullivan Field reached its $5.75M fundraising goal for restoration with support from the city and a major foundation donation. The historic ballpark at 650 Valley Ave NW is set to complete upgrades in fall 2026 that will renew features like batting cages and grandstands. MLive
- ➤ Max Kuperus is searching Hudsonville and Allendale for Bryce's handcrafted bench that was sold after his passing — he plans to display it at his parents' cottage in Pentwater and is prepared to pay any price to recover this cherished piece. ABC 13

- ➤ A water main break on Fruit Ridge Avenue caused a sinkhole on a Walker road Friday morning and crews are repairing the main while assessing the road damage over the next week — drivers should expect travel delays along the affected stretch. ABC 13
- ➤ MDOT closed the northbound lanes of U.S. 131 from Mile 90 to West River Drive in Plainfield Township on Wednesday after a pothole formed, and work will continue until 5 p.m. on June 1 with additional closures for bridge deck repairs starting then. MLive

- ➤ On Friday, Tammy Jo and Max Budzynski learned the Vander Jagt House was added to the National Register of Historic Places after a (10-minute) presentation to the state review board, securing the future of the 1930s home (located off Plainfield Ave. and 3 Mile Rd.) from demolition. ABC 13
