- ➤ Grand Rapids Public Schools and Kentwood Public Schools were among 10 Michigan districts with the most homeless students in 2023-24, reporting 575 and 314 cases respectively — school liaisons worked with community groups to help these students access free education, transportation and tutoring amid limited federal funding and rising rental costs. - ➤ A Job Corps Center in Grand Rapids will stop operations by June 30 following a phased pause by the U.S. Department of Labor — the program had cost problems and did not meet its goals. Rep.
