Police arrested suspect Devon Dominique Hayle—who was at the motel—after they found 26-year-old Damarius Cochran fatally shot on Saturday evening when a call for help was made for an overdose and the medical examiner ruled the death a homicide.

The Grand Rapids Asian-Pacific Festival, organized by the Grand Rapids Asian-Pacific Foundation, will run from June 13-15 at Calder Plaza downtown—offering live performances, workshops, food vendors, and a cultural parade for families.
