  • General Motors announced Tuesday a plan to invest $4 billion over the next two years in U.S. plants to boost production of both gas-powered and electric vehicles. The company said its upgrades in Michigan, Kansas and Tennessee will support more than 2 million vehicles annually — a move that Gov. Whitmer said will protect thousands of union jobs.  WOOD TV

  • Grand Rapids police said a driver is charged with a misdemeanor for a moving violation causing death after striking and killing stagehand Stephen Dowhan (53) of Walker as he rode his bicycle after work at DeVos Place.  MLive
  • Police say a man was shot at a car meetup on June 1 in the parking lot of The Shops at Centerpoint near 28th Street and East Beltline before 3 a.m.—they released images of a person of interest wearing a white t-shirt and black hat and ask anyone who recognizes him to contact GRPD.  ABC 13

  • The Grand Rapids Asian-Pacific Festival returns to Calder Plaza this weekend to celebrate Asian and Pacific Island cultures with live performances, workshops, food vendors, and a cultural parade. The event will feature a K-pop cover dance competition on Friday, June 13th and a concert by Voy Kwan on Saturday, June 14th.  FOX 17
