- ➤ Fountain Street Church in Grand Rapids offered sanctuary to the wife and three children of Carlos Menjivar, who was detained at Calhoun County Jail after his ICE arrest last week. Advocates said his family secured plane tickets for a voluntary return to El Salvador and urged ICE to return his passport—before Saturday. MLive
- ➤ Grand Rapids nonprofit The Diatribe is raising funds to finish its new culture hub in an 18,300-square-foot building on Division Ave—rising inflation has pushed the project cost to $9 million. The group has already raised $6.8 million and plans to secure the final $2.2 million to open the center this fall as a space for affordable housing, retail, workspaces and after-school programs.
