  • On Sunday, protesters gathered at Rosa Parks Circle to oppose U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites following bombings on Saturday — many said the action risked escalating conflict. Palestine Solidarity Grand Rapids will start a march from Grand Rapids to Lansing on June 26th, with a rally set for June 30 to protest military intervention and demand an end to using tax dollars for war efforts.  FOX 17
  • On June 20, 2025, a team riding in Saturday’s Gran Fondo in Grand Rapids encouraged neighbors to donate old bicycles to Upcycle Bikes—saying that these bikes can offer a path to a better life.  WOOD TV
  • On Sunday, Kentwood residents gathered at Veterans Memorial Park's splash pad to beat the 90-degree heat — families enjoyed water features and treats, with the park open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.  FOX 17

HEALTH NEWS

  • Yesterday's extreme heat led many residents to head to local lakes while officials cautioned everyone to follow water safety rules (such as not swimming alone) to prevent accidents. This reminder came as the hot weather pushed temperatures into the mid-90s, making water safety a top priority.  WOOD TV
  • Yesterday, officials warned that forecasted mid-90s temperatures with heat indices near 100 may put lakeshore visitors at risk, so residents were urged to stay safe when near the water.
