- ➤ The ninth annual Mike Sadler legacy celebration took place Sunday at Atwater Brewery in Grand Rapids to honor the former MSU punter who died in a car crash in 2016 at 24. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Great Lakes Fishery Commission (GLFC) received a $2.1 million federal grant from the EPA on July 15 to fight invasive sea lampreys in the Grand River by planning new control methods and a barrier to protect native fish and the multi-billion-dollar Great Lakes fishery. The grant will pay for projects (like building the barrier) that will help reduce the lamprey threat and support native fish recovery. MLive
- ➤ Lowell Light and Power will install a solar canopy at Stoney Lakeside Park to lower electricity bills for low-income customers—reducing bills by about 20%.
