- ➤ A 63-year-old driver from Grand Rapids died in hospital after his vehicle went off the roadway and struck a pole on M-6 east of Cascade Township Wednesday, August 27th—Michigan State Police are investigating the cause. FOX 17

- ➤ Claire’s filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this month and will close over 290 stores including several in Michigan — the closures were detailed in a court filing and come after the sale of its North American business to Ames Watson for $104 million. - ➤ Grand Rapids broke ground on a new $46M firefighter training center at 850 Pannell Road NW that will combine live fire training, a maintenance shop and an emergency operations center.
